Block Alignment Calculator

Block Alignment Calculator enables planar adjustment of the tissue block surface to the current position of the cryostat knife in Mohs Micrographic Surgery using the B-S laboratory device.

The first step is to prepare the test block (without tissue) using B-S device, insert it in the cryostat socket in the same position and to cut it for a thickness of:
3 μm12 μm
While cutting, pay attention to 3 following elements and enter them into the program to make calculations of the due movement of the knobs of the device.

After turning knobs make another test block and cut it again in cryostat as before.
If complete test block surface is obtained at depth exceeding 80 microns – repeat the adjustment.
If position of the test block is proper – process the tissue.
